KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION

To register for kindergarten, your child must turn five years old on or before Aug. 31, 2024.

To register your child for kindergarten, you will need:

• Your child’s birth certificate *
• Proof of immunizations **
• N.C. Health Assessment form **
• Proof of legal domicile 
  
  

* If your child was born in Durham County, you can order a certified birth certificate through the Durham County Register of Deeds Office online here.

** Within the first 30 days of schoool.

PROOF OF LEGAL DOMICILE

The parent, the legal guardian or custodian, must be currently domiciled within the geographic boundary of the Durham Public Schools district. Domicile is defined as a permanent, established home, as distinguished from a temporary place of residence. A person may have more than one residence, but only one legal domicile.
