Melissa Schuett

This is my fourth year at Mangum and I am so blessed to be part of this caring and generous community. I grew up in Bahama and am a DPS graduate. I attended undergraduate and graduate school at Wingate University, where I also played volleyball. I enjoy teaching for many reasons, but the main one is the kids! They brighten each day with their smiles, humor, light-heartedness and curiosity. I count it a sincere privilege to be one of their many teachers throughout their lives.

My husband and I stay busy at home with our 4 children! I love spending time with my family, reading, cooking, and working out. I am looking forward to another great year at Mangum!

Kayla Roberts

My name is Kayla Roberts, and this is my eighth school year teaching at Mangum Elementary. I grew up in Bahama, NC and attended Mangum Elementary School in kindergarten through fifth grade. I decided when I was in fourth grade that I wanted to be a teacher, and I have not changed my mind since. I graduated from Meredith College with a bachelor of psychology and a NC kindergarten through sixth grade teaching license. I am married to my best friend, named Dillon, and have two boys. My oldest son is  four years old named Jones (he attends Mangum’s Pre-K) and we have an almost 2 year old named Lile. As a family, we love going to Carolina Beach, Kerr Lake and traveling as a family. I love drinking coffee, spending time in my garden and cooking from scratch. I love being a teacher and I love teaching at Mangum Elementary!
