The Riverside Library and Library Staff encourages parents and families to take an active interest in their child's education, including their reading material. We support a wide range of students and student interests in our collection, and these materials are selected based on student requests, reading trends, positive reviews, and collection development tools (including School Library Journal, Booklist, Junior Library Guild, Follett Content Services, and lists from the American Library Association). We aim for a balanced, diverse collection that represents all of our students, their families, and our community.
Our collection holds over 14,000 books in varying genres. As librarians, we are always available to help students make reading selections that align with their needs, interests, and values. We encourage students to check out multiple books to see what might be a good fit, and to bring back books that aren't working for them. We are also happy to research content and trigger warnings upon request.
