The RHS Library sponsors the Battle of the Books team in preparation for the annual Battle of the Books Competition in late winter. BOB students read from a list of 15-16 pre-selected books and participate in a quiz bowl-style competition with questions taken from the reading list. All questions start with "In which book..."

In the 2021-2022 competition, Riverside came in 2nd place in the Durham Public Schools county competition. Our team hopes to read A LOT and train hard to take home the trophy in 2022-2023! Interested students should speak with Ms. Wine or Dr. Gold ASAP to begin reading from the list and attending practices. Spring practices are held on Fridays during the first half of SMART lunch. Fall 2022-2023 practices will likely be from 8-9am on Tuesday and/or Thursday mornings. 

If book competitions aren't up your alley, don't fret! We are trying to start a Riverside Book Club in conjunction with Battle of the Books for students who love to read for pleasure rather than points. Look for information about this new club at the start of the 2022-2023 school year.
