What Do I Need to Return?

Chromebook Return

  • Return Procedures

    • On Chromebook collection day for the student's grade level, the student will fill out a Chromebook Collection Form and put it, along with their assigned Chromebook and charger, into a collection bag. Collection bags will be given to homeroom teachers and then collected by Mr. Wylie.  See above for grade-level collection dates.
    • Students who do not return their assigned Chromebook
      • will not participate in any end-of-year school activities.
      • will not receive another DPS device from Neal or any other school in future school years.
      • will potentially be responsible for the cost of device replacement (approximately $450).

    Stickers

    • Leave your Neal Middle School sticker (with your name and grade level) on your device. This will help identify it if other labels are missing.
    • Leave DPS IT stickers and serial number stickers on the device.
    • Remove any and all other stickers. Students should not put any stickers on DPS-issued devices.
    • Students who return devices with stickers on them will become day users (not allowed to bring Chromebooks home) for future school years due to vandalizing DPS devices.
    • Students who return devices with stickers on them may also face fees to cover the cost of cleaning and/or replacing the device due to damage.

    Damaged Devices

    • Normal wear and tear on devices is expected.
    • Students who turn in devices with damage beyond normal wear and tear or have intentionally damaged their devices will become day users (not allowed to bring Chromebooks home) for future school years.
    • Students who intentionally damaged their devices may also face fees to cover the cost of repairing and/or replacing the device.

    Lost Devices

    • It is the student's - not the school's - responsibility to locate missing devices.
    • Students who have lost their device must report the device lost.
    • Families may be asked to file a police report for missing devices and submit a copy to Neal Middle School.
