Media Center

  • Learning in Action!

We LOVE learning at Club Boulevard Elementary! The Club Blvd. Media Center is a safe, inclusive, nurturing space for students to learn more about the world around them, explore their interests, and grow a love of reading. We believe books should be windows, mirrors, & sliding glass doors (credit Dr. Rudine Sims Bishop) for our learners.

Click here to access the Destiny Media Catalog. You can search for books, put books on hold and write brief book reviews for the catalog.

The Media Center operates on flexible schedule. Mrs. Husketh collaborates with teachers to incorporate research skills and integrate technology into the units already being taught in the classroom. This means that visitors will notice a variety of instructional groups working with Mrs. Husketh throughout the day; from individuals to small groups to whole classes. Students may visit the Media Center with a pass throughout the day to check out books, make inquiries, and access print or online resources on an as-needed basis. With the addition of tutors and community/parent volunteers utilizing the Media Center, it is truly an innovative learning space for all!

Open circulation for all students occurs daily. All Kindergarten and 1st gd. classes visit the Media Center at an established time each week. Any classroom teacher may schedule a weekly time to check out books in addition to the ongoing collaborative teaching units. Please check with your child's teacher for more information. Parents may visit the Media Center with their children before or after school. There is a manual check out sheet at the circulation desk if Mrs. Husketh is unavailable to assist you.

We need volunteers! Please consider donating an hour of your time 1 day a week to help reshelve books. Time is flexible and non-school age children are welcome. Volunteers are also needed for special events during the school day and in the evening. Contact Mrs. Husketh if you are willing to help!
